Women hold the knife by the blade, like the owner of local restaurant Kutlwano ke Boipelo who realised her love and passion for business early on in her life and took the courage to journey an unknown path because courage and unity give women pride in themselves.

Motshidisi Monnakgotla is widely known as Nurse; her journey began when she was still working for Cosmopolitan and figured out that business coursed through her veins.

She went on to start her own business in 2001, but things started really taking off in 2007.

According to Monnakgotla, she wanted to be an example to the other ladies in her community of an independent woman and espoused the view that they could live decent lives by being self-employed.

She said, “Women must be courageous and have perseverance because patience is the mother of success.”

The people who work at Nurse’s place are also on the same page and this is attested to by the customers who dine at her place like Vincent Khuzwayo who said, “The food here is so attractive plus the service we get here is just perfect.”

Enoch Dule supported this high praise for the restaurant and said, “We do our best to treat all our customers with the utmost respect and high-level service.”

Nurse Monnakgotla whose business ambitions gave birth to Kutlwano ke Boipelo.

“The people only complain when the food is done and they can’t get more.”

This was Nurse’s brainchild, but she admits that since the rand has been weakening, people do not frequent the restaurant as much as before.

She said, “But in business, you have to be diligent.”

Kutlwano ke Boipelo serves soul food and people who would like to make reservations can call 078 215 7318.
