WATCH: South African Rugby Union with Total SA hosts rugby clinics at Jabulani Tech

The South African Rugby Union with Total South Africa and Move It hosted rugby clinics at Jabulani Technical High School last week Wednesday.

These training clinics are a portion of a bigger picture and bigger goal to make Rugby a prominent sport in the Soweto community.

The French A team’ aka ‘the Barbarians’ along with the French ambassador were the honorary guests of the day, accompanied by the South African A team to facilitate the clinics.

Making the event a success was the partnership between Jabulani Technical Secondary school, Aspen pharmaceutical company, Move It and Total S.A.

Aspen has contributed towards the development of rugby through investing in sports, one such example is them investing in and offering the rugby field at Jabulani Technical High school.

Other than investing in the facility, Aspen is also implementing healthy living programmes to promote a healthy lifestyle that will result in sustainable communities in the future.

Within the schooling environment, Aspen looks forward to supplementing comprehensive educational programmes that will nurture both academic and sports development in children.

Taking the baton of the holistic vision of the whole partnership and initiative is Move It, movement matters who spearheaded the participation of local schools in the initiative.

About 350 learners had the honour of being coached by ‘the barbarians’ and will be going back to their schools to implement what they have learned at school through the Move It programme.

Move It will be introducing a programme called ‘Try It’ next term where coaches and players will be hosting rugby games at their schools as a continuation from last week Wednesday.
