Bright minds honoured at Emadwaleni

Emadwaleni Secondary School recognised top performers of this year’s first term. In a ceremony which was held at the Orlando West based school on Friday morning, last week learners who have done well were awarded certificates.

The aim of celebrating these bright minds was to encourage a culture of hard work and excellence.

Emadwaleni got a 91% pass rate in the class of 2016, making it the top performing high school in Orlando.

This year, the teachers and learners are on a mission to get a 100% pass rate. This is not only aimed for the Grade 12s but for all the grades.

A new slogan which goes, “One class one year,” has been adopted by the school this year.

This is aimed at motivating while at the same time not putting pressure on learners to not repeat a class while they are at Emadwaleni.

“The event was aimed at honouring our learners who have worked hard in the first term and also motivate the rest of the learners to keep up the good work,” said Sarah Princess one of the teachers at the school.

“We awarded them with certificates which were sponsored by Star for Life which is an important stakeholder in our school.”

All learners showed much enthusiasm and positive energy about producing positive results this year.

The school wants to improve on its record of producing good results not only for matrics but for all grades.
