Youth Club all about out of the box thinking

The Rosa Parks Library has a youth club that focuses on engaging learners in entrepreneurship, leadership, and educational opportunities.

The aim is to create self-sufficient youth members who will be active in all areas that the club engages them in and also lift their confidence and expose them to extra opportunities.

The Rosa Parks Youth Club is hosted every Thursday from 3pm-5pm.

“I am always surprised with the information gaps versus the potential the members have. Our youth are powerful and we are not investing in them sufficiently,” said Khathutshelo Hasha of Rosa Parks Youth Club.

“We have an average of 15 members who attend per session and we are open for more growth.”

Prominent people such as Penny Lebyane of Sunrise on Etv are regular guest speakers of the club. The club is for people between the ages of 16- 35 years.

Bontle Moloi who is one of the members of the club says the classes encourage her to think beyond any challenges she encounters.

“We have prominent people who come in and give us advice with any business ideas that we have. There was a competition that we once had that taught me that you don’t always have to buy things that you need, you can always try to make things for yourself first.”

If you want to be a part of the sessions you need to go to Rosa Parks Library at Ipelegeng Community Centre in White City.

“All we need is the attendance of young people and the will to learn,” said Hasha.
