Miss Teen Commonwealth needs to raise funds

Kamogelo Legoate, a finalist for Miss Teen Commonwealth South Africa has appealed to the community to help her realise her dream by raising R4 900 to continue competing in the pageant.

The 17-year-old learner from Malvern High School will be representing not only her Diepkloof community or Soweto but the whole country in this year’s SA Miss Teen Commonwealth.

“I am very passionate about helping my community and motivating the youth, and I want to bring change and inspire young girls in my community,” said the young ravishing Legoate.

She started modelling at age 14 at the Diepkloof Community Hall, and then she decided to challenge herself when she entered for Miss Teen Kamogelo Legoate Soweto, where she built her confidence and entered Miss SA Teen Commonwealth.

She needs help to continue competing for value to her life. Last year, she entered for Miss Malvern High School to keep the momentum and won the pageant.

Legoate said, “I never neglected my studies, I did well academically because education is the key and there has to be a beauty with brains.”

“I want to see young ladies following their dreams and achieving their goals. I want to help my community and give back,” said Legoate.

She solemnly wants to make her community aware of the ancient fact that it ‘takes a village to raise a child’ and that it takes teamwork to build an empire.

She said, “As the finalist, I’m supposed to raise R4 900 to keep my journey going as a young leader and I also need sponsors. It can be for anything from resources to funds.

“There are also benefits of being my sponsor since I will be doing charity work at the Soweto old age home in Jabavu.”

Legoate further appealed that, “The Home needs donations of anything that is acceptable, it can be food, clothes, funds, and toiletry, the charity work will end on April 20.”
