Sophia Town Police and Security squads team up to fight against drugs in Westbury and Newclare

The Sophia Town Police conducted a joined operation with the private security sector.

The aim of the operation was to search for drugs and dangerous weapons within the Westbury and Newclare area.

The operation was conducted together with Best Secure, ADT, Suburban Crime Prevention Security (SCP), Beagle Watch and the Bosmont Street Patrollers.

The squad confiscated a total of three knives, five scissors and ten packets of drugs.

A suspect was arrested for selling drugs and the case is currently under investigation.

The Sophia Town Police will have these operations on a regular basis.

They urge the public to help in the fight against crime by reporting any criminal activity by phoning the emergency number 10111 or the Crime Stop number 086 0010 111 or alternatively SMS to the Crime Line number 32211.
