Anti-Racism Week: Food is the uniting force around the world

Racism and cultural prejudice might still be major issue around the world but when it comes to good food, human beings have been good at accepting other cultures. According to researchers of published journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B, nearly 70 percent of worldwide national food supplies stem from foreign origins.

The origins of food crops is the one thing that consistently connects countries worldwide and is a great example of how human beings from different countries have embraced and accepted each other’s food contribution.

Many countries have relied on non-native crops to feed their populations both in production and consumption. These are crops that were initially domesticated and evolved over long periods in a region different from their origin.
